I am a Christian

“I am a Christian.” When I saw President Obama stand before a crowd of Muslims estimated to be a billion and a half strong and say: “I am a Christian,” I was blown away. That was just about the coolest thing I ever saw a politician do.
I understand Mr. Obama’s need for diplomacy, and that pithy statement spoke volumes. I shutter to think how George Bush might have handled that delicate situation – can you say Holy War?
Anyway, making that statement, I am a Christian, presupposes that you believe Jesus is who He said He is, and His teachings are valid and true. That’s where things can get a little dicey, especially in regards to a political verses theological meeting of the minds.
Jesus did not leave wiggle room, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one gets to the Father but through me” He said. (John 14:6)
So then are Muslims destined for Hell, Jesus didn’t say that, and neither do I. However, I can say that anyone who is saved, is saved by the grace of God, who in His great mercy applied the blood of Christ to your sins. But bear in mind grace is not universal, “only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:14)
In summary my Muslims friends, I hold great respect for your love of God, yet I am compelled to say, come to Jesus today.
